Rumpel is the son of Corae and Michael. He is the origin of Contract Magic, whose creation led the way for Summoning Magic to be created. Although he grew up with a shattered mind, he retained the ability to create binding contracts for souls and other things.

Biography

The forbidden tome

As a child in Kingdom Plane, Rumpel was found by Corae in a forbidden area of the library, holding a book he should not have been able to obtain. He should not have been able to enter the room at all. The tome splintered his mind.

Rather than allow her son to be cast out alone, Corae willingly fell with him. In Hell she protected him and built her reputation as Hell's Alchemist to keep them both safe. Rumpel grew up with the damage caused by the tome, but his shattered mind did not prevent him from creating contracts.

Contract Magic

Origin and scope

Rumpel originated Contract Magic, establishing the foundation that made the later creation of Summoning Magic possible. His ability is not limited to souls: he can create a contract for anything at all.

Binding terms and consequences

A contract created through his magic must be upheld. If it is broken, the consequences specified for breaking it take effect in full force. The penalties follow the terms of the particular contract; they are not restricted to a single universal price.

Family

  • Corae: His mother, the Fallen Angel of Knowledge and Hell's Alchemist. She chose to fall with him and continued to defend him in Hell.
  • Gabriel: His father, listed among the Ivory Keys of Enoch as the Vanguard Commander.

Appearance

The supplied illustration depicts Rumpel with long golden-blond hair, blue eyes and large white feathered wings with dark tips. He wears elaborate black, red and gold clothing and jewelry, and holds a glowing, sealed contract amid books and magical documents.
