Frozen Roses (unpublished)
The following material is drawn from Frozen Roses, an unpublished story concerning the second generation of characters. It will be published at a later date. Events here belong to the manuscript's chronology and may depict younger stages than the later profiles elsewhere on this page.
Childhood friendships
Aldebrand is reserved but comfortable within the family. He quickly becomes close to Jareth Takida, seeks his company, and takes an unusual interest in watching his training with Austeel. During a beach visit, they work together on an ambitious sandcastle, including plans for a drawbridge.
He can keep up with Jareth's energy while retaining his own quieter interests. Later in the manuscript, he accompanies Rembrant, Royce, and Loni to Seven during the events involving Draskden. His later relationship with Jareth is distinct from the childhood friendship shown here.
