The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
Birth and espionage
Louis explicitly describes himself as a Bellan-born natural stoat shifter, distinguishing his birth origin from his service to Seven. His Phase Magic lets him pass through walls, and he remarks that he has sometimes obtained information before Vander and Presca could. He accompanies Nuryev's circle during the effort to clear Enca's remaining Darksiders. (DN 10.)
