The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
Defending Enca and Curtis
Lloth's spider children fight the invading Darksiders and help recover survivors and bodies afterward. The draft identifies Damshiel as her mate and the spiders' father. (DN 2.)
When Councilman Belanger strikes Curtis, spiders descend and punish the attacker. Lloth declares that the prince is watched and protected wherever her spiders are present. Her mark and the Clockwork Queen's mark identify Curtis's dual patronage; their statues later occupy the principal dais of the royal temple. (DN 3; DN 13.)
