The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
Intervention and the Triad
Damshiel fights during the Darkest Night and remains afterward to help the survivors. He is identified as Lloth's mate and father of the spiders assisting with the battle and recovery. He recognizes the newly awakened Sirius, Remy and Tanis as Enca's Triad and teaches them to summon, dismiss and fight with their wings. (DN 2; DN 5.)
He also changes the Sanctuary's access conditions so that the Loa mark must reach a person's soul. The restriction excludes Darksider imitators and explains why the corrupted Council cannot simply follow the surviving Guardians into their refuge. (DN 2–3; DN 9.)
