The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
Alteration and service
The draft explains that Kressa added human material to Dagoth and Rohman while trying to produce controllable dragon shifters. The alterations permanently limited their physical growth, despite leaving them with a dragon's potential longevity. Dagoth is the older brother and remains strong enough to carry Nuryev in flight. He serves as the King's personal guard and mount as Seven's war ends. (DN 4.)
