The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
The forge and its lineages
After the invasion, Damshiel says that the damaged Gousselle forge needs Hephaestus's attention. The draft associates Hephaestus with the longstanding Gousselle and Faust traditions and the Holy Forge of the Duke who aids Remy. Vincent Faust's patronage includes both Hephaestus and Baron Samedi, as confirmed by the wiki owner. (DN 2; DN 5; DN 13.)
