The Kingdom of Bosco is a highly progressive, modern superpower located on the continent of Anubia. Celebrated as a cutting-edge oasis of personal liberty, advanced magical technology, and strict human rights enforcement, Bosco transformed its legal framework a little over 200 years ago to protect its populace.

The nation is globally famous for its landlocked inland freshwater phenomenon—the White Sea—and its absolute independence from the anti-mage directives of the Magic Control Council of Sweorta (MCC). Because Bosco has a complete monopoly over Clear Lacrima, which acts as an unaligned slate for technomantic programming, it holds supreme geopolitical leverage over foreign powers.

Government and Legislation

Bosco is governed via a shared constitutional balance between the crown and a democratic legislative body:

  • The King: Holds executive authority and the final veto or approval on all critical state matters, law, and foreign policy.
  • The Steel Council: A legislative parliament consisting of seven elected Councilmen. Councilmen are elected every five years by a popular vote of the citizens to author policy, draft laws, and manage the kingdom's administrative logistics.

The Knights of Immaculate Light

The royal guard and primary defense vector of Bosco is an elite military order known as the Knights of Immaculate Light. They serve as tactical vanguards, executing frontline deployments and critical intelligence assessments during conflicts.

Following a major institutional restructuring of the historic Steel Council, the Knighthood's leadership was consolidated under six specialized Generals:

  • General Tesso: Commander of the Mounted Core.
  • General Fasion: Commander of the Airborne Fleet.
  • General Malkriss: Commander of Capital Defense.
  • High Priest Umbrel: Spiritual leader and commander of the High Clergy of Immaculate Light.
  • General Durance: Commander of the Heavy Infantry.
  • General Corbeth: Commander of the elite, covert operations Bloodhunter Division.

Geography and the Clanborn

The heart and greatest geographical treasure of the kingdom is its landlocked, inland freshwater body, famously known as the Grass Sea (or the White Sea). This territory is uniquely rife with specialized flora and fauna, serving as a thriving biological epicenter on Ensla.

The Grass Sea Ecosystem

The surface of this vast freshwater sea is completely covered by a thick, interlaced, and buoyant carpet of native bioluminescent plant life. This dense vegetation is structurally stable enough for humans to travel across on foot, and it supports unique, specialized beasts that have specifically evolved to live and navigate upon the living green expanse.

The Grass Sea Islands and Clans

Distinct islands are nestled within the rich, life-filled waters and bio-carpeting of the Grass Sea. Far from being isolated, these landmasses serve as the ancestral homelands of the Ancient Clans, the original indigenous people of Bosco. The land-based majority population that surrounds the sea holds a powerful reverence for these ancient lines, ensuring their territories are strictly protected.

The clans produce some of the most formidable mages on Ensla. Clanborn individuals are instantly recognizable by intricate, magically anchored tattoos applied shortly after birth to identify their specific tribal lineage.

Boscan society enforces absolute bodily autonomy and personal freedom, backed by unforgiving judicial penalties.

  • Sexual Freedom Laws:Discrimination based on sexual orientation, preferences, or consensual fetishes is strictly illegal and carries mandatory jail time.
  • The Anti-Rape Mandate: Non-consensual violations are viewed as a fatal mental deviance. Accused individuals are tried directly by specialized Mind Mages. If found guilty through telepathic verification, the perpetrator is executed immediately. Bosco allows no appeals, no prison time, and no rehabilitation for rapists or pedophiles; both crimes carry an immediate death penalty.
  • Contraceptive Tech: Boscan alchemists invented an orally dissolving disk that serves as a total contraceptive and actively flushes out sexually transmitted pathogens. Men ingest the disk every 7 days, while women take it every 28 days, often utilizing an extra dose before casual encounters.

Religion and the Immaculate Light

The majority of the land-based populace in Bosco adheres to a generalized spiritual framework known as the Immaculate Light. Rather than relying on a rigid pantheon, Boscans treat the Immaculate Light as an objective moral compass to determine right from wrong, emphasizing transparency, honor, and structural integrity within the kingdom.

The Sudehpah Order and the Path of Venus

Entirely separate from the Immaculate Light, the educational and physical development of Boscan youth is managed by the Sudehpah Order. The Sudehpah are a highly specialized branch of the global Order of Venus, dedicating their lives to teaching individuals how to deeply love themselves, appreciate individual beauty, and respect the desires of others.

Starting around age 10, when hormones begin to shift, youth undergo private, two-year, one-on-one Sudehpah tutoring. Rather than leaving adolescents to navigate bodily changes in isolation, the Sudehpah guide them through anatomy education, body acceptance, and healthy intimacy practices. They teach comfort with both genders and introduce mainstream physical dynamics—such as basic BDSM—only if a student demonstrates a strong personal interest.

The Induction Ritual

When a youth is deemed ready, they undergo a home-based "Induction" ritual to ceremonially shed their virginity, removing sexual anxiety so they can focus on their wider societal calling:

  • The youth compiles a list of desired peers of similar age.
  • The Sudehpah coordinate with the parents and instructors of those peers to select the most compatible partner.
  • Once both youth give enthusiastic consent, a date is finalized.
  • The partners are ritually bathed in sacred waters taken directly from the Grass Sea.
  • The Sudehpah guide the couple through their first intercourse.
  • Afterward, the inducted youth takes a warm bath, participates in a guided meditation to process their emotions, and enters a major reception party thrown by friends and family to celebrate their transition into young adulthood.

Relational Law and Marriage

Because sex is medically embraced as a vital stress-reducer, intimacy is openly encouraged among mages and military units on active deployment. However, Bosco fiercely guards the sanctity of monogamous commitments through three legally binding tiers:

  • Promised: A legally documented agreement where two people commit to exclusive monogamy and map out a future marriage. Promised couples sign legal state papers giving them mutual rights, wear rings on their left middle fingers, and men wear wide-banded metal bracelets matching their partner's birthstone.
  • Engaged: A brief, formalized transition state utilizing traditional engagement rings once a Promised couple officially schedules their wedding date.
  • Married: A permanent legal bond forged over a two-day ceremony. If a partner marries into the Knighthood, they must spend one hour immersed inside the physical source of the Immaculate Light.

The Consummation Check

On the first night of a wedding, the couple is bathed in Grass Sea water by two Sudehpah witnesses who remain in the chamber to watch the marriage be consummated. Because forced or arranged marriages are strictly illegal, the Sudehpah will instantly terminate the marriage and trigger a capital criminal investigation if either partner displays the slightest discomfort, hesitation, or resistance. If coercion is proven, the guilty party faces immediate execution under the same statutes as rape.

Procreation and Surrogacy

Bosco completely outlaws artificial sperm banks, dictating that all human conception must occur through natural intercourse. If a married couple faces infertility, it is culturally common and highly celebrated to bring a trusted friend or helper into the bedroom to aid in biological conception, entirely free of social stigma. Furthermore, pregnancy surrogacy is viewed as an incredibly noble, prestigious profession, granting participating women elevated social status and significant financial compensation.
