The One Magic

From White Sea

The One Magic in the Pradeshverse:

The One Magic in Fairy Tail is the Origin of All Magic. Speculated to be many things, within the Pradeshverse it is the very magic of the soul, of the heart.

It reacts differently within everyone, but in mages, it is an underlying drive, one that will make most reach out to find someone for them. That perfect other half, that they can open up completely to. For some Magics, it is a bond on a soul/magical level, for others, it is completely working with their hearts.

As Magics have come, gone, thinned and become more rare, the Gods have become very worried about clashing Drives within The Mate Driven Magics. This creates a situation where they have to attempt to do what they can to make sure the lines continue.

With some magics currently on the Brink of Extinction, the gods have started stepping in, speaking to the Weavers of Fate and attempting to find a way to bring certain bloodline abilities back. It took nearly 800 years for them to bring back the Triad of Archangels (Awakened and Dormant) and during that time, Heavenly Mages dwindled, or locked themselves within Stella.

This was not limited to just heavenly magic, but other types as well. Elemental magics thrived, as did various other types within Earth Land, more and more dragon slayers showing up gave the Gods pause, especially when they noticed that the Slayers Mate Drive could overcome “One” links. They understood the need for the powerful magics, but to have other mages miserable, they needed a backup plan.

Hearts could, afterall, be swayed by actions which brought the Gods and The Weavers to an agreement that rare mages could have a secondary One that the connection would not solidify unless something happened to the Primary One. The Mages would instinctively know, but would be more pulled towards the Primary One.

On Mates and Soul Mates:

Mates and Soul mates are a different categorization from The One. The One is something that All humans within Earth Land get. This is to help soothe the souls, give them a deep connection.

ARCHANGELS:

  • The death of the Archangels chosen mate breaks their will to live, if the mate was killed in a formal duel the magic compels them to accept the claim of the mage that won but, their hearts are gone, their will is broken, they become slaves when the mate they chose and gave themselves to willingly dies. If not claimed quickly after that mate dies, the Archangel does die, it just takes a little time for the complete break down.
  • If the mate took them, they were forced unwillingly or without their consent into the mating? Different story. If that first mate is beaten in a duel they are compelled to accept the claim of the winner, but, their will is tied to their consent. Sei-Roo gave them that much.
  • Cassiopeia built the compulsions strong into the magic, but, Sei-Roo gave them a way out, that if they are taken against their will, if the first mate dies they won't, their will is still their own, their heart is still their own.

DRAGON SLAYERS

  • Mating with a dragon slayer is a lifelong thing. Typically. The compulsion drive that was given to the magic is deeply rooted into a dragons natural instinct.
  • When One of the two mates die, unless there is a valid reason (Offspring) the other will follow them within short order.
  • Male Dragon slayers have no gender preference, due to how rare female dragon slayers are, they ALWAYS mate with males.<ref>This is based highly in Lore and folklore. From Anne McCaffy to Ancient Oriental Myths, to D&D Lore</ref>
  • It is rumored That the Joyans have created a way to break this bond, but only use it in certain circumstances.

SEITH MAGES

  • The Soulmate of the Seith mage creates a unique dynamic. While they are bonded, the death of one will not automatically bring about the death of the other.
  • If one of the soulmates is not a seith, there may be an attempt, if the Seith is not the one that passes away, for them to bind the soul to them. This is, however, affected by the will of the other mage.
  • Complete Loss of the Soul Mate can lead to insanity within the Seith, or other mood altering changes.
  • If there are Offspring and/or pressing issues that the Seith must complete, they will not follow their Soul Mate into Death.

SHADOWQUIPS/VOID ANGELS

  • The Shadowquip (or void angel, depending on whom you ask, where you get your information from) mates based on...trust and love. this is someone that is STABLE and able to be a fixed point for them so that they can travel deeper into the voids.
  • Female shadowquips are RARE, 1 in 2.5 Million Shadowquip births, they are barren and cannot carry their own children. They have viable eggs, but the strain of the power, the shades and the void make it so that they are unable to carry a child. This chance gets smaller and smaller as the line continues to birth a female as The closer to the "Original" shadowquip (Vander) the more likely (not that it's not dismal already) a female is to be born.

CELESTIAL MAGES

  • All Celestial Mages have a One. who it is, only the Fates Know. This is the one person that they're able to share everything with.
  • Should they lose this One, they typically spiral into darkness, becoming Dark Celestial Mages that can go out of control, destroying as much as they can before they're killed.
  • Sometimes, the Fates will take pity and try to rebind the broken thread, but not often.
  • Archangels, though not always the Celestial Mage's One, can be substitued as such if the Celestial Mage has Lost their One.

How The Mage knows who their mate is

As outlined, The Magics do pull towards certain types. each however, has different recognition properties.

ARCHANGELS

  • Because of how the Archangels were created, they have no one set "Mate". Any Light, Holy or Celestial based Mage can claim them as a Mate.
  • They are drawn to these mages, sometimes with their will being stripped from them. However, the reverse can also be said, as Light, Holy or Celestial Mages can be overwhelmed by the will of the archangel<ref>This means that a strong enough willed Archangel can mate with a celestial mage against their will; creating a consort like bond that the Celestial mage is at the whim of the Archangel. this was done back during the Holy War with Fallen Archangel mages and True Fallen.</ref> if the archangel's will is stronger. This especially can be seen in the fact that if an archangel is forcibly mated and the mate killed, they still retain their heart and ability to love, finding a mate that will cherish them.

SEITH MAGES AND DRAGON SLAYERS

  • Both of these Subsets...know upon meeting or seeing their mate that they are "destined".
  • The mages may be willful...and stubborn (oh, so very stubborn when we're dealing with Dragon Slayers) and attempt to not give into the pull, but consequences will be given
  • In The case of Dragon Slayers, if they get too far from an unclaimed mate that their magic has recognized but the human mind is denying, it can cause weakness on both parts, illness and even coma of the mate. The only way to fix it is proximity...and mating.
  • A Dragon Slayer Leaving their mate either at the start of a partial mating, or with it just not having been started but having been in direct contact leaves the mate up into a situation where a Rival Slayer is able to override the mating, creating a Concubine/Consort. This greatly weakens the Initial Slayer and, if the mating is almost complete, can kill the Slayer.
  • Dragon Slayers and their mates are not like Celestial Mages and Seith mages with typically "one" soul mate, they have potential mates and more than one can be 'active' at any given time, if the slayer admits, outloud that the person is their Potential mate, the magic will start the bonding/Mating Process. If a Slayer's mate dies and there are children (see above) there is a moderate chance the Inner Dragon will continue to look for another Potential mate.

Mating And How It's Done

Yes, we are going there. To start: There is always intercourse involved. Always. Though the semantics for each type of Specialty magic may be different, the base core deals with physical Pleasure.

ARCHANGELS

  • Archangel Mating always has a Verbal Contractual Part to the mating, even when it is being forced, the archangel is compelled to say the words by the magic.
  • "All I am, I give you to" Is the very core, very basic 'Instruction' that genetically/magically comes with the magic. However, when they are mating because they want to, additional words are used, not limited to: The to Be Mate's name, and a promise of forever.

SEITH MAGES

  • The Binding of the Soul is different for each Seith. Depending on their Origin, it may include a recited spell, while other lines of Seith Magic do not. It is typically done at the height of passion when the magic flares.

DRAGON SLAYERS

  • Dragon Slayer Mating is the Most involved and it also has variable time involved.
  • The Process starts with the First Bite to the mate, indicating Intent. Over the course of anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, a total of Three bites are placed upon the non-slayer mate, solidifying their mating mark.
  • For Female Dragon Slayers, the process is slightly different, as the Mate must first Dominate <ref>This is a Brutal Battle, where the female Slayer's dragon takes over, taking no Quarter. It ends with the joining of the bodies with sexual insertion (strap ons do not work, it must be a functioning Male sexual organ)</ref> the Female dragon slayer, or risk becoming a consort.
  • Consorts are Real things for the Female Dragon Slayer. They are able to produce a "Venom" that will make a male submit to them. This creates a Consort, though depending on how the Slayer wishes to portray the Bond, it can be viewed as a Mating, though not a true one where both are "Equals" in the relationship; Typically, depending on the magic of the Consort, magical offspring may not be produced.

Non Compatable Matings

While it may be odd, we have done "play tests" to see if certain mage types that have mates (Archangels, Seith, Dragon slayers) work well the following rules apply:

  • Archangels and Dragon Slayers/Dire Shifters do not work, the requirements of the Archangel Mating do not work together. Archangels are Celestial and Slayers are Beastial. Slayers do not require trust, while Archangels require a higher level of Trust. <ref>This Also applies to Dormant Archangel Mages. They do exist (only applicable after the Triad emerges) and The Triad must have trust of the mage they mate with.</ref>
  • There are no restrictions with Seith/Dragon Slayer or Female Celestial Mage/Male Dragon Slayer.
  • A Shadowquip cannot be with a Seith Mage. The two magics are incompatible and would drive both to insanity and darkness. This may extend to Shadow/Dark Magic based Mages, as both Shadow mages and Shadowquips need their "Light in the Dark" to help them find their way home. That makes them incompatable, for a Shadowquip cannot be the Light for another, nor can the other types.
  • Two Celestial Summoning mages will never be together, keysets affect the mages, so they really truly do need a mage of another type to balance them out.
  • God/Demon Slayers and Dragon Slayers have an innate rivalry built into their magic, this would not be good in any way, shape or form for a relationship, thus making the pairing unviable. No God Slayer/Dragon Slayer matings; no God Slayer/Demon slayer pairings, no Dragon Slayer/Demon Slayer pairings.
  • Shadowquips do NOT mate with Archangels; The Shadowquip/Void Angel is a similar magic strain as the Evening Star Archangel and Archangels do NOT mate with one another.
  • Archangels do NOT mate with one another.
  • Though few and Far between...Seers (of the Celestial sort especially) tend to not find Love in Life. With seeing through the River of Time, they cannot share everything they see, it would take a huge amount of trust, but they have no Set One, they are considered One-less.
