Tian Slave Female (Mother of Uram)
Gustan Karadin was the former King of Pergrand, known for ruling the empire with an iron fist of fear, mirroring the tyrannical legacy of his father before him. An exceptionally cruel and calculating monarch, Gustan wielded formidable Storm Magic and maintained a complex double life, weaponizing public religious devotion to conceal his private heretical pacts. His reign was defined by ruthless domestic conditioning, the enforcement of dark demonic traditions within his bloodline, and the ultimate fracturing of his heirs. Officially recorded as dying from a sudden, massive cardiac event, Gustan was secretly assassinated by his second son, Prince Ivan Karadin.
Biography
Tyrannical Reign & Religious Manipulation
Gustan ruled Pergrand through absolute terror and systemic oppression. In public, he heavily championed the worship of the sun god Apollo. Despite the fact that less than one percent of the Pergrand population actively followed Apollonite doctrine, Gustan artificially inflated the church's political power and authority to serve as a righteous facade for his crown. In absolute privacy, however, Gustan was a devout follower of the demon prince Asmodeus, drawing his cruel philosophies from the shadows.
The Royal Rites & Family Fracturing
To maintain his grip on his lineage, Gustan enforced a strict family law: birth order meant nothing to the succession unless an heir successfully completed the **Royal Rites**. Hidden completely from the public, these dark, demonic rituals required an heir to sacrifice their "Red String of Fate" (their capacity for true destined love) in exchange for deep, psychologically ingrained masochism—a trait carried by the Kings of Pergrand to endure unnatural thresholds of pain and corruption.
- Sergei's Exile: Gustan's oldest son, Sergei, explicitly refused to undergo the Royal Rites. Enraged, Gustan stripped him of his position and exiled him to the frozen territory of Icefall under the custody of Grand Duke Hesha.
- Ivan's Resistance: His second son, Ivan, secretly possessed forbidden Blood Magic. When the ceremonial ritual paint—which was actually cursed, demonic blood—was brought out, Ivan's magical sensitivity allowed him to recognize its nature, prompting him to refuse the rites.
- Raimarc's Ascension: The third son, Raimarc, willingly accepted the demonic Rites, subsequently ascending as the next King of Pergrand. However, because neither Sergei nor Ivan ever formally signed away or denounced their birthright claims, the true succession remains geopolitically contested.
Death and Assassination
Gustan's tyrannical rule came to an abrupt, violent end during a private dinner with Prince Ivan. Gustan was heavily berating Ivan for his entrepreneurial ambitions, mocking his desire to become a businessman and open a highly regulated high-society establishment (which would later become The Dollhouse night club enterprise).
When the argument escalated, Gustan made an idle, threatening remark regarding Ivan's youngest half-brother, Uram. Protecting his brother, Ivan covertly targeted Gustan with Blood Magic, systematically thickening the blood inside the King's veins. The sudden viscous shift instantly formed a massive blood clot that paralyzed Gustan on the spot, causing his heart to violently strain and collapse. Ivan calmly left the dining hall, leaving Gustan to succumb to the fatal, engineered stroke alone. The crown officially covered up the assassination, attributing his death to a natural, high-stress cardiac event.
Powers and Abilities
- Storm Magic: Gustan was a highly capable elemental mage, utilizing high-intensity tempest manipulation, localized gale generation, and lightning casting to enforce his military dominance.
- Demonic Fortitude: Having successfully completed the Royal Rites in his youth, Gustan possessed an unnatural threshold for physical pain and psychological corruption, completely detached from the standard human emotional spectrum.
