Kittar Blaise
Kittar Blaise, commonly called Kit, is a Black Panther Dire Shapeshifter and Displacer Mage of the Encan bloodline. A direct descendant of Enca the Great, he is identified as the last pure Encan Dire Shapeshifter.
After poachers killed his family, Kittar was adopted by the Gousselle family. He was kidnapped at six years old and taken to Seven, where his strength was enhanced and he received the country's golden dragon tattoo across his back. He is a childhood friend of Cidalise "Cida" Gousselle.
Appearance
Kittar stands 6 ft 6 in tall and has a large, heavily muscled build. He has ruby-red eyes and shoulder-length, unlayered black hair. His features include black panther ears, a panther tail, and prominent feline fangs.
His appearance is described in his profile as classically handsome, with Old French Creole features. He is clean-shaven and keeps his chest hair trimmed. His usual attire consists of a black button-down shirt, maroon trousers, and black boots.
Panther Form
Kittar's panther form is larger than a horse, massive and powerful, with black fur and ruby-red eyes. Seven's golden dragon tattoo remains visible in both his humanoid and panther forms.
Biography
Encan Heritage and Adoption
Kittar is a direct descendant of Enca the Great. His family was killed by poachers, after which he was adopted by the Gousselle family of Enca.
He became a close childhood friend of Cida Gousselle, whose family was associated with the Encan swamplands and the weaponsmithing trade.
Abduction
Kittar was kidnapped at six years old and taken to Seven. Cida's biography records his disappearance as the event that prompted her to search the swamplands for him. During these searches, Cida and her brother Remy discovered poaching activity.
Cida's subsequent investigation exposed a councilmember's involvement in trafficking sacred animals. Her attempt to intervene led to her own capture and eventual transportation to Seven.
Captivity in Seven
Kittar's strength was enhanced during his time in Seven. He was marked with the golden dragon tattoo across his back, a brand associated with the captivity of Sevenese shifters.

Quote
Shadow and strength flow through my blood. I am Enca's legacy.
Guardian service and the Song of Enca
Kittar serves as an Encan Guardian soldier, blessed and marked by the Loa. He hears the Song of Enca: normally a soft, soothing sound, it grows loud and urgent when the Sanctuary is threatened, summoning the Guardians to its defense.
He was imprisoned in Seven during the Darkest Night and feels guilty that he could not defend Enca. Friendly, gregarious and easy to get along with, he enjoys fishing and helping at the Gousselle forge in Penni. His friends include Syzgian Duloncray, Remy Gousselle and other Encan Guardians.
Beasts of Seven (unpublished draft)
The following details come from the Beasts of Seven manuscript set, which is not yet published in its final form. Numbered document labels identify draft sources, not published AO3 chapters. Events describe the manuscript's chronology and may differ from later character profiles.
Mentoring Luna
Kittar serves as a mentor and trusted uncle figure to Luna Gousselle. She develops her Displacement Magic while working alongside him and Vander in Xillian. He encourages her to send a rescued person about thirteen miles to the Dragoncry, while she acknowledges that intact transport of living people is still difficult and tiring for her. He also helps the family move between field positions and their transport. (Beasts 22–23.)
The Darkest Night (unpublished)
This section draws on The Darkest Night, an unpublished story. The opening document and numbered DN documents are manuscript sources, not published AO3 chapters. Ages, relationships and events below describe this earlier point in the characters' lives.
A return postponed
Kittar and Cida hear Enca's distress call while confined in Seven. Cida later disengages his collar during their Detroit mission, allowing him to escape. He reaches White Sea in Bosco and returns to Enca expecting to resume Guardian service, only to discover the massacre and Council infiltration. Laurie urges him to remain outside the Council's reach and keep Cida safe. (DN 3; DN 7.)
Kittar becomes a vital courier, bringing a secure communicator, supplies, alchemical materials and Rowan's restored blue magnolias. He helps connect Laurie to Farron and carries messages and aid despite the Sanctuary's tightened entry rules. He also reunites with Cida during Seven's war. (DN 3–4.)
Emergency displacement
During Enca's later battles Kittar evacuates Presca, brings Cristoff and other support, and moves defenders between tower lines. His Displacement requires a clear view of what he is moving, which prevents him from immediately extracting an obscured infant during one confrontation. His work combines combat, rescue and logistics. (DN 10–11; DN 13.)
